New Website and Other Changes at SCA Czech Republic
SCA Czech Republic is undergoing changes.

We are launching a new website, preparing a new visual identity, changing our communication methods, and working on a clearer membership structure as well as a new format for our festivals. We are implementing these changes gradually and would like to present to you what you can already see, what we are working on, and how you can get involved.
First, we want to thank everyone who has supported SCA in recent years. To our members, partners, competitors, organizers, and everyone who attends our events and helps develop the Czech coffee community. We appreciate your trust, time, and patience.
At the same time, we realize that some things in the past did not work as they should have. Some plans have been delayed, communication has not always been sufficient, and we have not been able to secure some promised member benefits and services. We apologize for these shortcomings and unmet expectations.
We want to change this with specific steps. The first of them is being presented to you right now.
New Website and More Regular Communication
You are currently on our new website, which we are launching in its first, introductory version. We will gradually add to, develop, and improve it.
Our goal is to create a clear place where you can find information about the activities of SCA Czech Republic, festivals, competitions, education, and membership. You can already browse the individual sections, familiarize yourself with the engagement opportunities, or find out what we are preparing.
The website will also feature a Coffee Map, through which we want to showcase cafes and roasteries across the Czech Republic and help people discover businesses in our community.
At the same time, we are preparing regular updates on the website, newsletters, and more active social media, so you can stay informed about everything important in a timely manner.
We would appreciate your feedback. If you find something missing on the website, something is not working, or you have an idea for improvement, do not hesitate to write to us.
Clearer Membership and Greater Support for Cafes and Roasteries
An important part of the changes is the new membership structure. We want it to have clear rules, specific benefits, and to provide value to individuals, cafes, and roasteries.
You can already familiarize yourself with the current membership options and their conditions on our website. Based on this, we will further develop the offer and add new partner benefits and collaboration opportunities.
We want to offer member cafes and roasteries more space for presentation, involvement in festivals, and visibility through the Coffee Map and our regular communication.
In response to unmet member benefits, we have also decided on a specific step for existing members:
All members who paid their membership for 2025 or 2026 will have their membership automatically extended until December 31, 2027, at no additional cost.
We will gradually reach out to existing members personally. We want to present the upcoming changes to them, listen to their experiences, and find out what they expect from SCA and where they see room for improvement.
Our Festivals Will Be Connected by the Coffee Brand
Under the common brand Coffee, we want to gradually connect our city festivals across the Czech Republic. Each event will carry the name of its city, such as Liberec Coffee or Pardubice Coffee. Together, they will form one festival family.
In addition to tasting great coffee, they will offer space for meetings, education, sharing experiences, and connecting professionals with the public.
This change also involves the transformation of the current social profile Barista of the Year, which will gradually become the Coffee profile. Here, we will share information about individual festivals, their programs, and everything happening around them.
The Czech Barista Championship, known as Barista of the Year, will of course continue. The change of the social profile name does not affect the name or continuation of the competition itself, which remains an important part of our program.
SCA Czech Republic continues to oversee all these activities.
Coffee is Heading to Pardubice and Liberec
In the near future, we are preparing two festival events – Pardubice Coffee and Liberec Coffee.
On November 21, 2026, we will meet at Pardubice University, where the Pardubice Coffee will take place. The festival will be open to the general public and entrance will be completely free.
You can look forward to booths from roasteries, tastings of specialty coffee, workshops, lectures, and also our own competition in preparing the premium Geisha variety coffee.
In Liberec, we will subsequently have Liberec Coffee, which will include the national competitions Czech Barista Championship (Barista of the Year) and Cup Tasters Championship.
Details about the program, dates of individual activities, and opportunities for involvement will be published on the website and social media. Both festivals are being prepared for coffee professionals and everyone who loves good coffee and wants to explore its world.
Competitions, Education, and Talent Support
National coffee competitions and education remain one of the main pillars of SCA Czech Republic.
We will focus on more professional organization of competitions, better communication with participants, clear conditions, and timely publication of important information. We want to create a quality environment for competitors, judges, organizers, and partners, and continue to support Czech representatives on the international stage.
In education, we want to offer more opportunities for gaining knowledge and sharing experiences. Connecting experienced professionals, new talents, and people who are just getting acquainted with the world of specialty coffee.

We Are Expanding the Team and Will Introduce Its Members
SCA Czech Republic is still led by Kristián Kříž. We have expanded our team with additional people who will focus on organizing events, marketing, communication, and other areas of the organization’s functioning.
Some faces you may already know, others you will soon meet. In the coming weeks, we will introduce the entire team, its members, their experiences, and specific roles.
We want you to know who is behind the individual activities, whom you can turn to, and with whom you can discuss your ideas or collaboration opportunities.
Changes Will Come Gradually
The launch of the website is the first step. In the coming weeks, we will be adding content to it, implementing a new visual identity, adjusting social profiles, and introducing the team, partners, and member businesses. Gradually, more information about festivals, competitions, and education will also be added.
Our goal is to establish a clear system that will reliably function for the next several years. So that it is clear who is responsible for what, what membership brings, where you can find current information, and how you can get involved.
All changes will not happen at once. We will implement them gradually, evaluate what works, and listen to your feedback. We will also keep you informed about what is already done and what we are working on next.
Thank you for being part of the Czech coffee community. We look forward to further meetings, collaboration, and exploring the world of specialty coffee together.
Coffee unites us.
